      VCR Bill

Since the introduction of the "latest" VCR bill on 1st October 2007, sales of AIRGUNS (including replicas) AND MAJOR COMPONENTS (barrels, cylinders etc.) by DEALERS is restricted to a face-to-face transaction.   Please ensure you are familiar with the changes brought about due to the VCR act, which may be viewed on the BASC website.   BASC and ACPO have produced a guide to the VCR act in PDF format, which avoids legalese and is very understandable. See HERE.   AirGunForum members must ensure their transactions conform with current legislation before posting.   An inter-dealer network to facilitate the continuation of mail order business is being established by Portland Jon. Details are HERE or direct to his website HERE.

      Editing your posts

The forum's EDIT function has been changed. After making your post, you will have 30 minutes to review and edit it. After that, only Admin will be able to make edits.   Should a post NEED to be edited afterwards, email to admin@airgunforum.net the change details, the URL of the thread it applies to and if appropriate, the reason for the change. Don't forget to identify yourself and do use your registered email address to make contact. All this is necessary, as admin must be able to identify who you are and that it is your post that you wish to edit.   Admin. will make the edit if it appears necessary. Note, if you want to change something that could easily be achieved by adding a further post to the thread, you will be expected to do it.   Forum staff generally view new posts added to threads since their last visit. If a "for sale" item has been sold or a wanted item has been obtained, just add a post to the thread and it will usually be noted and the thread title will be edited appropriately. This saves members' time wading through posts that are effectively "dead".   DaveL

...latex suit for "afters"...then you lot turn up...

That made me feel a little bit queasy facepalm-smiley-emoticon.gif

Looking forwards to trying it..sad git that I am...

Target modifications are nearly complete. Magnetic retainer bar constructed, magnets epoxied into place, various holes drilled, backboard cut and "decorated".

Went to B&Q to get a couple of brackets to hang it from. Just needs bolting together and then I'll give it a test run at various powers to check function - fingers crossed.

I'll have a few nick nacks to sell at the club this week (after the AGM of course):

-5 tins of the wunderpellets mentionned above

-2x vintage leather rifle slings

- HW 77/97 underlever cocking aid.

A lovely thought but not recommended

A stainless steel shaving mirror is first choice. No wonder you only scored 2 last week. :rofl2:

Nice and consistent then from week to week!

...However, given the special hydration regime chugger-smiley-emoticon.gif that's some pretty fancy shootin'.

Well here's one -bottom- you wont have to wipe again Mike.

I consider you have always had an excellent team around you willing to do any task. To let a few get to you is just being childish.

Well...over the last 4 week's I've been around & talked to 95 per cent of MM members...no complaints...it's very easy to cast aspersions....back it up with names...or it's all bull-excrement-.... :lol2:

Unless there is something unknown communication going on behind the scenes, Chris, I think this type of banter has gone tooooooooo Far!!!!!

Just let it lie, I for one and many others at the club miss Peter alot and to be quite frank, the club could do without petty arguements about former members and especially publicly, you are not making friends by doing this.( I suspect you had had a few bevvies when you posted this ) I apologise if I have spoken out of turn, I am just getting fed up with the -excrement- flying about, its not nice. Happy Christmas

Thanks for your input Kim,

There HAS been "communication" behind the scenes...& stirring...NOT BY ME..that's one of the main reasons I stood down as chairman...no member/individual is bigger than any club...& i'm not looking to make any new friends.I'm still on the committee & will offer all my support to the the new lad's who have stepped up..the club goes on.

I've deliberately not involved other club members..& won't...unfortunately you aren't at the club all year around Kim so only have partial knowledge of "things"...i'm there week in week out..& will be when you go away again...I think i'm right in saying that my attendance level is probably one of the highest...your's is getting near the lowest....& by the way I tend NOT to post when I have had a few "bevvies" as you put it...i'm sure you didn't mean to infer I was pithed...& if you did..I accept your apologies.

I note your fondness of Peter & i.m sure he feels the same for you...have a good Xmas & don't work too hard..!

Out of interest I've just checked the attendance records for the last 12 months which equated to 49 club meets...we do miss the odd week for Xmas/New Year & the club Xmas nosh otherwise we get together every Thursday...you attended the club 24 times Kim which is pretty good but some members almost doubled that..maybe we should have a prize for the most "loyal" member.... :lol2:

PS....it isn't me.. :cheekkiss:

Hope you have had time to view my replies to your post Kim...as the co founder of the Marksmen 4 years ago the last thing I want is bad publicity for us but now you have "rattled my cage" I feel obliged to defend myself..not the club...i'm sure you would appreciate that most members wouldn't know each other if the club hadn't been formed...I enjoy the club nights & count some of the members as personal friends...indeed I socialise with them outside of the club, but it's very easy to stand on the side lines & criticize things...it's the committee that drive things forwards with the help of members in any club/society..I've tried very hard for 4 years to promote the club & certainly didn't sit on my hands...as for not making friends...I have...good ones...not the kind that stab you in the back with a smile on their face..they aren't "friends"...which leads me nicely in to some more facts (not fiction)....

Someone has/is -excrement- stirring behind the scenes between forums..his name was suggested to me.

If you view his profile you will see one of his "friends" is a moderator from another forum..(why?)

Part of his email address is..Grumpy..

As far as i'm aware he is still a member of the Marksmen..don't think a rant on a forum constitutes a resignation?

He's fell out with airgunning before & a few of us guessed that when you came back from your sailing that he would regain his enthusiasm...he did.

None of the other members has come forwards/posted on this thread.

His son is the new club chairman & with the help of other committee members we will as a club move on.

There's been nearly 100 members come & go over the years...it happens..two past members have left the club because of one (current) member.

I've always been at the for front of any club "activity"..BBQ's..Fayre's...comps...clay shoot...Xmas meal's....often one of the last to leave..in fact the last time I saw someone so drunk they puked up was at a club BBQ..remember..so to suggest I post on forums whilst having had "a few bevvies"..was a cheap shot.I'll also remind you of when the summer BBQ was cancelled at short notice (due to rain).unfortunately the usual room we use wasn't available so I suggested to decamp to the bar...most members were happy to do this & have a chat & play snooker...he turned around & left..although to be fair there wasn't any sarnies.!

I do hope you don't think I am having a go at you Kim because i'm not...far from it...I just wanted to point a few facts out...so please don't take it personal..there is life outside the club & if you want to see him I suggest you meet up.I do have other points I could make but that would involve naming names on an open forum..i'll not do that.I wish you all well at the Xmas nosh....i'm seeing some old mates that night so will miss it for the first time & having organised it the last 3 years hope it all goes well & you aren't stood at the bar at the end of the night wondering who hasn't paid for their meal..remember I that too..now who could that be..

I believe this post to be factual & fair...not hearsay or gossip...feel free to shoot it to bits if your opinion differs.. :cheekkiss:

Why ? --- Possibly because I helped said member regain access to sales.

I'm completely in the dark as to what's going on at Melbourne, so don't bother trying to drag me into this lot Chris.

And rest assured that any threads posted in the same vein on the BBS will be deleted.

Got to ask why you (Mick) would "befriend" a member on this forum for doing him a favour on another...& how you were aware of what I had said so quickly...as far as i'm aware you haven't posted on this forum for weeks & never in this section...it's almost as if you were prompted...

As you raised the subject of deleted threads on your forum..I was following two that seem to have disappeared...one was a well established member who was suggesting that your forum had changed for the worst...the other was a thread where someone had suggested that some airgun reviews in the magazines were biased...wouldn't it have been fairer to lock them rather than erase them..to some people that viewed them it would seem that certain subjects just won't be tolerated on your forum..criticism being just one.

As for suggesting that any threads on your forum on a similar vein will be deleted...nowt to do with me Mick...I have no input on your forum..but it is interesting that only Kwaka1 & a Moderator from another forum have bothered to post on this discussion...that sends a message to me & hopefully anyone else who reads this...

Merry Christmas to you too Mick..have a good un.. ..Chris.

Chris. I had promised myself that I would not post in answer to any of your unreasonable rantings but I feel I must for your sake.

Chris I see from your recent posts that you think it was me who drew T20 Micks attention to your post.

I can assure you it was not. We have not had contact for many weeks.

CHRIS TRY TO ACCEPT THAT THERE ARE THINGS WHICH HAPPEN, CONTACTS AND CONVERSATIONS MADE IN THIS WORLD WHICH DO NOT CONCERN THE MIGHTY CHRIS.

You also accuse me of "stirring it" behind your back. Again Chris not guilty. I was contacted by a few folk when I left the club. Both on this forum and others as to what went on and I told them all politely that any dirty washing in the MM belongs there only.

People have stopped posting in answer to you rants I think because to do so sets them up in your sights as a target. Read again your answers to Kims post. You brought up things there which were hurtful and just not relevant. You do it just to hurt Chris don't you see that?

Chris for your own sake get some professional help. What you are is PARANOID" look it up Chris" don't just assume you know what it means, look up the symptoms, look back on your posts on this forum and see the answer. You yourself mentioned the key to this recent spate when you brought up the incident of Kims cancelled shoot. this obviously preys on your mind. A symptom of being paranoid is to not be able to handle the slightest criticism.

Mods/Dave. Chris is never going to give up on this and his vitriol is at present aimed at me which for any outsiders viewing these posts cant do the forum any good.

So please delete me from this forum. I will not view it again so any posts or PM's will not be read by me from NOW.

Hi Chris

I'm having problems with posting or quoting on here so I'll have to try to quickly answer your questions from memory.

I'm a member of twelve different forums and try to read all new posts on AGF1, AGF2 and the BBS everyday --- the others I try to read weekly.

I looked in on this thread the other day to try to find out if you'd posted a date for the next Fayre as folks were asking about it which is when I read your post before Kanga's and wondered what the hell was going on.

I've looked in regularly since then to try to fathom out what the problem was as a lot of Melbourne members frequent the collectors section of the BBS, so I thought I better keep abreast of things --- so no tip off, and I'm sure admin on here will confirm I'm a frequent visitor.

There is no friendship button on the BBS so many folks befriend me on other forums instead as a thank you, simple as that.

The threads you point out as deleted were actually deleted by the members who started them and not by Admin --- one of them was started by TonyL and he deleted it because it went way off subject and ended up as a slagfest.

The other thread where the member said the General Section wasn't to his liking was also deleted by the thread starter --- so no cover up by Admin.

Some really interesting threads get deleted by the thread starter which I wish were still on view, but we have to abide by the members wishes on these things.

Hope that's answered a few things for you Chris, unfortunately I don't have time to get involved in long threads on any forum at present due to work commitments but I'll keep looking in --- and I'll keep off this thread as it's for Melbourne news.

All the best Mick

Hi Pete,

I can't see where I suggested it was you that alerted Mick..I merely said he had "friended" you..

You HAVE been mailing an ex member who confided in me what you were saying...it's true.

Just re-read my eailier post (1071)...can't see why that would upset anyone...no names were mentioned..I did say (specifically) that it wasn't personal...who's upset?

You do have grumpy in your email address...same as I have mad in my user name on here.

Re.being paranoid...didn't know you were qualified to diagnose such ailments. I do know what it means without looking it up...really Pete...is that the best you can do..?

I KNOW the world doesn't revolve around me...or you.

I'm also aware you were verbally abusive to a MM member...there was a witness.

Re unreasonable rantings..FACTS Pete...FACTS.

Re members not posting...at least two have said you can be "moody" & "awkward"..

I witnessed this when you "threw a strop" because another member decided to take photographs of a function & you thought you were the club "press"..you stormed off with a face like a spanked @rse.

To suggest a discussion based on FACTS should bring a forum in to disrepute doesn't wash...nice try.

The fact that you decided to walk out of the club was your choice...everyone else is still there...any friends you have made should still be friends...I can't influence that...you seem to think that the members can't be your friend & mine...they can...life goes on.

These are facts Pete...that's what I deal in...shame you can't/won't defend them...I hope you are happy on the other forum...it should suit you very well.

OK then Chris

I've managed to get posting and quoting sorted by turning the Christmas lights and snow off so I can answer this bit as well now.

The fact that I've posted on this thread is due to the fact that you brought me into it for some strange reason --- nothing more.

I would delete threads in this vein on the BBS, as this lot especially your last few posts appear to show MM as an unfriendly club with lots of back stabbing and big problems, washing it's dirty laundry in public.

That's the message your posts are sending out to me and everybody else reading it --- stand back Chris, pretend you know nothing about what's going on at Melbourne (like me) and read your last few posts.

I get along with a lot of MM members and I'd delete posts such as yours in order to protect the club's good name.

All the best Mick

Hi Mick,

No there's not lot's of back stabbing at our club..come visit one week...we get on well..it's the club Xmas nosh tonight & two thirds of the club members will be there...Pete's an ex member & sometimes ex members carry a grudge..nothing worse than an ex smoker for instance..I had a quiet word with Pete's son at the club 6 weeks ago & told him to tell his dad not to be so childish & come back..I also said that he seems to live his life glued to watching a computer screen every day & he does...he seems to be living his life on forums...I believe that there is life outside of forums & clubs...in other words..get a life.

This MM thread has been going for eons & we talk about all kinds of things..good & bad...but the bad is only a very small percentage..i'm all in favour of club "stuff" staying at the club but when someone "kicks off" on this thread i'll defend our club & myself...would you deny me this..i'm sure some forums would..hopefully not THIS ONE.

The ironic thing is Mick that it's Pete's son who is the new club Chairman...& with other new guys on the committee we intend making 2015 an even better year than this one..& ..i'd like to think we will beat our monies raised for chariteis again & host more Fayre's too..history will answer that one..i'm posative if you visit us again this time next year i'll have lot's to report on.

There is no extensive "stabbing" at our club..& the small amount that was stopped when Pete left suprisingly.. every club/society/team has fall out's it would be unreal to suggest they don't...i've seen a few on your forum.Pete has thrown his dummy out & slamed the door twice now at Melbourne..& now on this forum..but i'm sure he will be a great asset to your forum..Melbourne also has other guys on there too & when we deciede to host another vintage airgun Fayre it will be posted on there for all to see so there really was no point in you visiting this thread..you could have PM'd them or me on here to find out what you wanted...we wouldn't advertise it's date on what is effectivly a club members thread because we would all know anyway..hence I found it strange you suddenly turned up.

There you Go Mick...i'll just say it again..there's no unfriendly atmosphere at our club...it's expanding..we have a very healthy social scene doing other events outside of Belltarget shooting..within the last month we have been to Leeds Armouries & it's our Xmas nosh tonight...some of us also went clay shooting...i'm there every thurs & still try get around most members for a chat..i'd like to think that anyone reading this would do so with a balanced open mind..what you delete on your forum is up to you...I/we don't expect any favours.

Hi Chris

The subtitle of this section is ,club news and announcements, so it made sense for me to look in here for an announcement of the next Fayre date.

Are you saying that instead of me clicking on my keyboard twice and looking in what I thought was the obvious place for a Fayre date announcement in order to help someone out, you think it would be easier for me to pester an MM member by PM and then wait for a reply ? --- I always try to take the shortcut if possible.

At the time I looked in here no MM members were in the collectors section to give a reply, which is why I tried to find the date on here for the chap.

Hope you all enjoy your meal

All the best Mick
