New officer for BASC South East

BASC South East has welcomed a new regional officer.

Taylor Rikje-Pearson will cover the counties of Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex.

Taylor studied game and wildlife management at Sparsholt College and has worked as a gamekeeper on wild bird estates in France, as well as estates in the south east of England.

He has worked as a field-biologist for a large pest-control business and has a keen interest in all forms of live quarry shooting, beating during the season and working his dog. He is also a member of a target rifle club.

He said: “I have a passion for shooting and the countryside. Having the chance to work in a regional capacity within the field of shooting and conservation field is an opportunity I am really looking forward to as well as running local events and getting to know BASC members across Kent and Sussex.”

Dan Reynolds, BASC's director South East, said: “I am pleased to welcome Taylor to the south east team. He will play an integral role in providing front-line services to members across Kent and Sussex. Taylor’s background in gamekeeping, wildlife management and pest control will enhance the services available for our members in the region."

Sarah Turner from BASC Council said: “We are delighted to welcome Taylor into the BASC South East team. His practical experience will prove invaluable to our members and we look forward to watching him grow and develop in what we hope will be a long career at BASC.”
