I have to say nat's as a long time shooter at springfield  . it is in winter the coldest ground i have ever shot at . the walk up the field afterwards is purgatory . seems like it will never end . when practicing . i used to do the course in two half's . from the toilets to the club hut . have a cuppa or two and then try to do the rest . on very rare occasions i could only do half the of the rest of it . sod it was the cry . let us have a warm up . yep when the wind is driving the snow along it is BRRRRRRRRRR ??? HOLLY

I think one of the coldest shoots I have ever done was the Springfield 'not quite' the NEW Year shoot last Christmas, snow on the ground and a blistering wind blowing in horizontal snow flurries made things interesting to say the least. A few of us stuck it out to finish but my fingers were so numb I kept dropping pellets.

At least at Stalingrad they could fire pray for an attack to warm up the gun barrels / fingers....

Maybe, but a bit of a trek for an Islander these days and you’ll find that field doesn’t get any easier...🤣

Very true, though if you look at both names quickly they do sort of merge, maybe Springfieldski might be better...

No you get shocks off synthetics. Nothing off silk.

I think for an extra few quid these look like better value as long as you're not like DC and insist on a volcano ruby murray the night before:
