    The challenge of East Devon

Problem with it Col is that it all depends on the angle of the barrel . down , it shoots lower . up , it shoots higher and it does not have to be very high . not right with out a jig to put it in . but that would require a jig for every rifle . all right if it is yours ??? HOLLY

Let someone else have a go to make sure it's not something wrong with the scope? I have +2.0 in my right eye and can adjust the eyepiece for a sharp reticle if I wanted, but I have it set to use with my glasses anyways.

Ah yes I only saw you in the relative chill of the shady woods, how did you fare out in the Furnace with all that lovely heat haze and switching wind?

    The challenge of East Devon

Chrono tent was the same place as 2016, but you're right I think everyone went over high that expected, though for my pains my rifle recorded 807fps with expresses and at home over my chrono it's bang on 800fps so that could just be the difference between two chrono units. Neil was about 25fps higher which accounted for some of his high misses.

    The challenge of East Devon

The part i did NOT agree with putting the chrono in the open part of the course . not just in the open part of the course but at the end of it . so you had been out there for 45 mins at least in the scorching sun trying to find shelter to put you rifle in whilst waiting to shoot .. as we came out the woods , i said to the marshal on the chrono , can we go on the chrono now . no you have to do this part of the course first . my steyr is set at 770 fps . it went over at 789 . ??? HOLLY

Great shoot, more about stamina against the heat than tackling the fickle wind, certainly in the morning...👍

    The challenge of East Devon

The challenge for me was one of stupidity and how to avoid it . for the last three shoots i have at the comps not felt as comfortable as i have at the club . ? which i put down to nerves/ pressure / who knows . i could at the club in shoes get my feet flat on the floor ( good ) . at the comps i could only get my heels on the floor . ( bad ) it was on the way home today that the penny dropped .the bean bag i use for comps i keep in the car . the bean bag i use at the club stays in the caravan . one has more beans in than the other . thus sitting higher , my feet are flat on the floor . Dohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ??? HOLLY PS off tyo the bean shop now .
  26. So, today was the East Devon GP. A great ground and the course today was excellent, well apart from the hot spot of the open area. The perceived temp difference between the shade and sun was dramatic. I also think the wind in the afternoon was much stronger. However, it was cleared in the morning so hats of to that person. For me I got my PB for the season so far with a 34. Downfall mainly was positionals missed 7 from 10. Poor technic on my part. The remaining misses were 2 reducers, snatched trigger, and not getting wind right. Outside edge was sometimes not enough or to much. Even my shooting partner struggled to get it right, target 25 in the open, strong l-r breeze. Mine i gave outfide left went straight and my partner gave inside left to hit somewhere on the faceplate. The misses on many a long one gave no clue a direction with the spread quite evenly both sides as well as high and low. You would have thought they might have been long standing shots. Anyway enjoyed the shoot and day and that's all that matters. Anston next.
