      VCR Bill

Since the introduction of the "latest" VCR bill on 1st October 2007, sales of AIRGUNS (including replicas) AND MAJOR COMPONENTS (barrels, cylinders etc.) by DEALERS is restricted to a face-to-face transaction.   Please ensure you are familiar with the changes brought about due to the VCR act, which may be viewed on the BASC website.   BASC and ACPO have produced a guide to the VCR act in PDF format, which avoids legalese and is very understandable. See HERE.   AirGunForum members must ensure their transactions conform with current legislation before posting.   An inter-dealer network to facilitate the continuation of mail order business is being established by Portland Jon. Details are HERE or direct to his website HERE.

      Editing your posts

The forum's EDIT function has been changed. After making your post, you will have 30 minutes to review and edit it. After that, only Admin will be able to make edits.   Should a post NEED to be edited afterwards, email to admin@airgunforum.net the change details, the URL of the thread it applies to and if appropriate, the reason for the change. Don't forget to identify yourself and do use your registered email address to make contact. All this is necessary, as admin must be able to identify who you are and that it is your post that you wish to edit.   Admin. will make the edit if it appears necessary. Note, if you want to change something that could easily be achieved by adding a further post to the thread, you will be expected to do it.   Forum staff generally view new posts added to threads since their last visit. If a "for sale" item has been sold or a wanted item has been obtained, just add a post to the thread and it will usually be noted and the thread title will be edited appropriately. This saves members' time wading through posts that are effectively "dead".   DaveL

  15. Well today was a little learning experience, it has been a number of years since I shot in weather that bad and wet in the 1990's. However, it was my first ever DNF due to a mechanical. Started on a kneeling lane missed a 35yd low at 6 like just about on the edge of the kill. I put it down as me however the 2nd target at 25yd landed about 1/2" lower than the first. The next 2 targets the pellets landed at 6 hitting the chain on both. Got the next 2 by luck I think as aiming so 6" high. Missed the next 2 but by this time I was some 4-6" over the plate. I had just filled with air so not sure why its playing up. It sort of had the symptoms of the cylinder pressure being below the reg pressure. Called it a day but soldiered on marshall Steve Lucas (who finished on a 30) who was taking bit off the rifle to try and see through the scope. I will have to check things out next weekend. Leaving the rifle alone, well apart from drying and cleaning it after the soaking today, and see what the the pressure is in the rifle and what it does over a chrono.
  16. Well Dear God what an awful day . it did not stop raining . it ran down the hill taking a mini flood/mud slide with it . i started well i think i cleared 4 lanes and then . and then the -covered in gore- top turret inner came loose . oh dear . should have put lock tight on it . still the GC2 seems to have held as far as it went . and when i got home there was still air in the shutz . so maybe just maybe we are on the up . i do hope so . i am not going to work tomorrow . gonna have a lay in . and look at the rain out of the window . Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh??? HOLLY
  17. Hot Pellet

Grandads is a lovely rifle to shoot. I’d love to able to do a round with it but being left hooker not practical.
  18. Back to basics

I don’t think looks should come into it for a Target stock, like you say fit is better than looks. Look at some of the 10m shooters grips. They shape them with car body filler wrapped in cling film.
  19. Airgunforum, what future?

Same here. Unless I physically tap on what page I want it goes to the first post everytime. Even if I do tap on a certain page it don’t go to my last read post like before,I’m scrolling down for the next unread post.
  20. The Coming Season

Can’t see past Jack if I’m honest. My goal is AA by summer.

  22. Back to basics

Well laminate stock sold, got the four hooks up for sale. Bullpup I like the style of them but being built like an orangutan they never feel comfortable, plus I'd hate to shoot say Germany again muzzle over line feet behind the firing line. I take onboard the idea of a shorter rifle though and it's something Jon has always said about how I shoot since I started working with him - my rifles are long but fairly compact if that makes sense. I do prefer weight slightly forward though. I am going to go back to the carbon and ALU stock of the 9015 just need to get some grips made that fit and are comfortable. Currently modifying some existing grips that Warren made for me - won't be pretty to look at but if they fit all is good. Will go for a walnut stock once I work out what I really want. Oh by the way welcome Paul Yates to the forum! Thanks for the replies guys, need a lot of help at the moment. Matt
  23. The Coming Season

OK who will be the man at the GPs this year ? . i reckon Berty having had a while to sort his 9015 might be in with a chance ??? HOLLY
  24. Hot Pellet

I was shooting grandads off the bench Stan ??? HOLLY
  25. Back to basics

Right Matt , i am your man . 1/ you have a bad back . that means you need a lower weight outfit . plus get the weight back as far as poss . 2/ get a lighter scope to go with it . then this is the crux of the matter . bull pup it . this will do two things , lower the weight . bring the weight back . the side effects of this is to lower the effect of the wind on the end of the barrel and stock . by putting the carrying strap on the side of the stock and putting your arm through it . you can brace your self in four ways . one the left leading hand on the front of the stock . two your left arm through the carrying strap . three your cheek against the cheek piece and last the butt hook passing over your shoulder and angled towards you neck . don't get sucked into this gotta have a long un . short is errganomic , efficient and the way to go ??? HOLLY
  26. Back to basics

Latest Precise is for a left hooker! Its meant to be universal left or right with a mere pistol grip change. Problem is the centre line for but fixing is left hooker biased and cant get any offset without interfering with backend of the brown. Earlier Precise much better either a proper left or right hand stock, same as the 8002 and early 9003 and current alum 9015. Downside is the naff horrible plastic grips and aftermarket made wrong.
