I'm with Simon, it is what I was told when I first started shooting FT. Mind, the bloke who told me really didn't have much of a clue what he was talking about, only having won three World FT Championships.

All top end rifles are much the same. All need sorting to some degree to get the best out of them. Once that's achieved they all will do a 5p group at 55y on a still day. None has any real advantage over the other, its just some shooters prefer X over Y. The reasons for choosing a gun can be many!!

Only time your against another is the Showdown, which is one of my fav weekends of the year.

I shot my nut's off over best part of the 18 years i was in the showdown . but after about ten years you realise it is not a gonna happen . so you shoot well in the first round . shoot the second . get your badge and go home . simple .

Yes i will agree Neil , that Nick did shoot like that BUT nobody else does . i remember at a big shoot Bainsee put hancox with me cos he knew i would wind him up . needless to say . bainsee won it . Now That Is FT ??? HOLLY

Gott in himmel . you swinehund . you call that shooting he said . you were shooting like a scotsman , he said ( meaning rubbish ) . set up quickly but then found that when i got to sitting . the scope was too far forward . Dohhhhh . start again early tomorrow . ??? HOLLY

Well today was getting up and down day . into the sitting position and then up again . trying to get some method of doing it without looking like i was gonna fall on my face . not a gonna be easy . tied to bean bags tied together . one to place the rifle on and sit down with out it . nope gets twisted / dirty in the mud . will work on it sunday . decided to sell my 40 mag . as in my knackered state it is taking too long to find the target . then look away , adjust the turret and find it again . without magging down . it was OK before i had the hip done . but at the mo cannot get a good rested position naturally to use it properly . maybe get another 20=50 . maybe not . the scope has a taylor top turret . a mill dot ret . fitted in germany . comes down to just past 10 yards . rowan silver adjustable ;pointer . , sunshade . the small jon harris sidewheel  , which suits it perfectly . range finds well . optics very good . boxed . no longer made . so hard to get a good one . looking for £ 850 plus post ??? HOLLY

I have a pup called a Noblesse . it is korean . good quality . very accurate . regged , but the trigger lets it down . that plus the fact it has no single shot adapter . having said that . the trigger on the new air arms Galahad , is worse than the Noblesse . ??? HOLLY

Right practice today at the club . good day lovely weather and some good shooting , BUT could be better . getting up and down has become easier since i remembered how i actually used to do it . seems a silly thing to say . but it has been nearly a year since i used the sitting position properly . did most of my shooting kneeling . once i got that sorted it was trigger control and stability . slowly getting there , ??? Fresh air will do you good mate. I was just listening to the radio and a Walsall FC fan had booked a hotel 11 miles from Portsmouth for there footy game today turns out the hotel was on th rock lol. Are you doing / going the euros / worlds old boy? Shot Millride club shoot today which was very windy 20/30 and was quite happy with that! It was a head to head which is big kill and mini kill in each lane, the usual couple of 60 yarders as well for good measure.
