So.......the last Winter League fixture this side of Christmas and as many know, ETL in Winter can be the graveyard of many an aspiring FT team as that wind darts here and there swirling around those carefully crafted channels in the woods...

Kent Woodsmen are romping away and barring a serious disaster like the Dartford crossing being closed, look like they will enter the New Year as firm leaders in Division 1.

By the same token, now that Dan has finally found his mojo and almost cleared the Springfield course it looks like it will be a Choppers/ Eley shoot-out for top dog at the end of the season.

However, don't get the names to the engravers just yet as we will only be halfway through and as I always say it's not over until the fat Holly sings...

Cor I love ETL but it clashes with N Oxon CSFTA.  Now as I'm missing too many CSFTA shoots for my score to count do I gate crash another great ground for out of region experience!?!

North oxon is a easier shoot than ETL Gary . the wind at north oxon . usually only comes from one direction . whereas at ETL you will be shooting , if in the woods in a large circle . so the wind is different from lane to lane . having said that , you will have to put up with Colin ??? HOLLY

PS so if you need a good score . north Oxon . if you need a challenge , ETL .

I too enjoy ETL, great ground for keeping you awake with what the wind is doing, only 'downside' is that it can be -covered in gore- cold

I think that with both Iceni and Springfield being a little chilly we should be getting used to it now...

My scores of late are below good no matter what or where I shoot.  I am a fan of ETL though.. Think decision made...  Oh and all SEFTA grounds are closer to me than CSFTA :)

Just pondering on where to put the course for this one.

We haven't used the open side for a while so maybe a nice Winter League course out there would be popular.... or maybe not.

Been looking at other options in the woods, we will see.

What it will have is something for everyone and hopefully enjoyable for all.

Personally I would say the bowl of doom as we've cooked out there over the Summer so for the sake of balance a good freezing over the winter would be in order....

Id use the woods in Winter as more wind can get in / through and the Bowl in Summer.

Dont chase your scores and especially anyone else's! Just turn up and enjoy and accept what happens, learn from mistakes and stop at KFC!

Have to ask why you did not choose Sefta in the first time if its closer?

I know if I were lucky enough to be in the middle it would be ETL if in the Woods for me, but not the bowl.

Hope you make it which ever.

Yes go on, that means you will be 37 targets behind me.

"Targets hit", all else is pointless!

Half bowl, half woods? A little stroll between them is no hardship.

I was plinking 18 months ago at Bisley as I work near there and when FT was mentioned I got a BFTA number and the rest is history.  Never had a clue about clubs, regions or locations of....  I drive 200 miles a day most days for work so no CSFTA club is "far" but some days a "quick trip" to SEFTA is very appealing  :)

Friendly faces everywhere.. :)

With you on that one Gary, one of the things I love most about FT is the welcome you get wherever you go.

Oh and the banter, the day they ban that will be the day I retire.
