Just a line to say a huge thank you to all of you who made the trip to Dartmoor Marksmen FTC today. You made all the effort worthwhile. I think we can say it was a super day.

Keith

PS - Short enough, Dop? I know you have a short attention span!

PPS - Jennie Essex Bird - Tell that bloke how lucky he is to have such delightful company when he goes to shoots!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

PPPS - Edit - I can't spell "Dartmoor" correctly tonight, too tired

Thanks everyone. DWB's suggestion that I move up-country so I don't have to travel so far to shoots is noted. Actually, Dave, I never start from Plymouth - I always drive to Bristol and start from there!

Thanks, Rob. It was a pleasure to meet you. It was also good to see some well-known FT shooters who made the effort to travel down to Dartmoor. It would have been even better if more of our own region's shooters could have supported us - our thanks to those who did.

There would have to be a shoot-off afterwards, wouldn't there?! I thought I had finished for the day and could get on with other things - still, it was quite an event for me, hitting two reduced standers at the end. As I said to Jeremy, who was marshaling it, he shouldn't ask a pensioner to do that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I will be posting some photos/web pages in a few days - I have to do other things first! Like learn to walk, my legs are siezing up this morning!!

Excellent shoot... look a bit like a red lobster this morning... whoops - guess I should've put that suntan lotion on then ?!?

My only complaint is that Lee J seems to have managed to walk away with not one, but two trophies for the day... have you any idea how unbearably smug he's gonna be for weeks & weeks & weeks ???

Seriously though... excellent day. Thanks to all involved.

but i'm sure they'll be up on the sites etc soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Very fitting if you ask me, it was Keith..

Thank you. It is rather ironic really (or prophetic, considering my plans to cut back on the shooting side of life). It was a Diana Model 24 (.177). I started shooting with a Diana Model 15 (a .177 smooth bore!) in 1960 when I was about 14 years old. I think fate is trying to tell me something, like I have come full circle!! Second childhood? .......... before someone else says it. As I said to Gus a few days ago, after he said I was like a child after I had to try walking across the Dartmoor bog ("blanket" bog, that is), my wife keeps telling me to grow up! NEVER!!

Keith

Thanks, Rod. Darts ....... I had almost forgotten them! We also had red plastic pellets in those days (Milbro?) which were simple "slugs", not waisted diablos. And a 10/- gun license ..... remember?

Three web pages of photos now posted, starting HERE. I am sorry they didn't all work etc, I have some vision problems and couldn't see when one card was full, during the presentations. I hope you enjoy them.

I also don't know all the names so there is an email link on each page so people can let me know what the numbers under the photos should be.
