I am sad to say David died today of a massive heart attack. He was also diagnosed with mumps earlier. Please do not ring Pauline as her family are not with her yet. He will be sorely missed by his family and our sport is very much poorer for his passing. Redfearns Turkey shoot will go ahead on Saturday as planned. Dave would not have wanted it any other way such was his dedication to our sport.
I am personnally devastated and my thoughts are with Pauline.

Darren Petts

Very, very sad news. A fine man, extraordinarily generous with his time and advice. He will be sorely missed.

How sad.

David was without a doubt one of the nicest guys in airgunning, not to mention an awesome shot.

Always made time to stop & have a chat & joke with anyone. A fantastic ambassador & tireless worker for the sport he will be very badly missed.

Our thoughts go out to Pauline & family.

He needs to be remembered with a permanant trophy in his name in one of the big comps. I'm sure we'll all be only be too happy to contribute to the cost.

Clarky.

A sad day for Airgun shooting. I had the pleasure of talking to Dave regularly and shooting with him on occasion. A nicer man you will not meet and his energy for shooting was huge.

My condolences to Pauline and his family. Airgun shooting has lost a great gentleman that will be missed by everyone who knew him.

RIP Dave.

That is sad news.
I had the pleasure to meet him at the worlds 2005 at Weston Park and we had a very interesting talk about the sport.

Our condolences to his family and friends.

On behalf of the DFTA,
Bertus Land

What a sad loss of a very knowledgeable kind-hearted gentleman.

Dave helped me on more than one occassion and I remember meeting him for the first time at GP4 this year at Springfield.

Tireless in all that he did for our sport. The sport he truly loved.

An annual DWB memorial shoot would be very fitting Clarky.

Sincere condolences to Pauline and the Family

Regards

Barry

To Daves Son.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I note your comment about this thread and would point out that there is another BBS which Dave also frequented. They too have a similar thread and you may wish to read the many many tributes on there.
