Have you tried re-focussing the parallax (i.e. front lens) for 20m?
Search for parallax adjustment here if not.

Although I havn't tried resetting the front lens on a Simmons, it should not be any different to the rest.
The front lens has a locking ring which with care can be unscrewed, there are two notches cut into the base of the locking ring.
Cut a piece of cardboard and drop it onto the surface of the lens to protect it. I use an electricians screwdriver to lever the locking ring in an anti clockwise direction to unwind it.
It is then a case of winding in or out the main lens holding ring.
Once you have acieved the focus that you need, refit the outer locking ring.
Should save you the bother of purchasing another scope.
