Could some tell me if there is much preload on the HW 35 spring? Is a clamp necessary or can I unscrew the trigger bit completely by hand? Thanks. Mick.

Over the years I have changed a few and never needed a spring press, get the thread moving then put a towel (just in case ) over the trigger block and unscrew it ,

Using the towel is fine but make sure you keep pressure on as you unscrew, just in case a previous owner has stuffed a longer spring in it!
